The advent of the racist viral video is nothing new in 2019 — but less common are the times when racists publicly get what's coming to them.

Below are six of the most outrageous instances in which racists got their comeuppances.

Texas man executed for brutal lynching of a black man

John William King, a white supremacist who helped in the brutal murder of James Byrd, Jr. in 1998, was executed on April 24, 2019 — over two decades after the lynching.

King and two other racists dragged Byrd for nearly three miles behind one of their trucks after spray-painting his face, beating him up and tying his ankles with chains. He was the second of two men charged with Byrd's murder to be executed by the state of Texas.

Milo Yiannopoulos comes up broke — again

Formerly considered an "alt-right provocateur," British shock-journalist Milo Yiannopoulos has repeatedly failed at many attempted endeavors after being deplatformed in the wake of past comments he made in favor of adult men having relationships with young teen boys. This time, it came when an Oklahoma tour he'd scheduled imploded and, as The Daily Beast's Will Sommer noted, left him "even further in debt."

Yiannopoulos has always maintained that he cannot be racist because he's sexually attracted to and married to a black man, but his writing tells a different story. Most recently, he was barred from obtaining an Australian visa after the mosque massacre in New Zealand due to comments he made calling Islam "barbaric" and "alien."

Last year, Yiannopoulos' racism was further revealed when the editor's notes from his now-self-published book Dangerous were unveiled in a court proceeding. In one instance, he "joked" that Indian cab drivers use curry as deodorant.

Proud Boys' Gavin McInnes rebuked by his own neighbors

Erstwhile Vice co-founder and Proud Boys leader Gavin McInnes was royally embarrassed early in 2019 after a letter he'd written to his neighbors in the upscale New York City suburb of Larchmont revealed that he was begging them to stop protesting him and his hateful views.

McInnes, who later stepped down as the Proud Boys' leader after a number of the group's members were arrested for brawling in the streets of Manhattan last fall, claimed he was trying to shape "the alt-right without the racism" — but videos of him using the N-word and going on an anti-Semitic rant prove otherwise.

New Jersey police officer fired for posting racist comments on social media

A Trenton, NJ police officer was fired on April 18, 2019 after posting racist comments online — including using one term that was a throwback to slavery on his public LinkedIn profile.

Michael Palinczar was terminated after it was revealed that he referred to himself as an "overseer," a term that harks back to the people who "watched over" slaves on plantations, at the city of Trenton. In addition to his self-appointed job description, Palinczar also got into a Facebook fight with a Trenton councilman in which he said that the city's residents "rather sit on their asses and wait for the first of the month" than be proactive.

"White and hot" woman fired from high-salary job after viral racist rant

A white North Carolina woman filmed bragging about being "white and hot" when telling two black sisters that they "don't belong" was fired from her job after the rant went viral.

Charlotte, NC resident Susan Westwood was fired from her $125,000-year job at Spectrum Enterprise, a subsidiary of Charter Communications, after video of her shouting at Leisa and Mary Garris, one of whom was her neighbor.

“I’m hot, I’m beautiful, I’m white,” the woman is heard saying in the video before adding that they were in an upscale part of town

“This is Myers Park, SouthPark," Westwood added. "What are you doing here?”

Republican candidate loses election after his kids come out against him

A Missouri GOP Congressional candidate lost his election by nearly 30 points after his children came out against his candidacy and told voters that he's a racist, anti-Semitic homophobe.

Steve West was disavowed by the Missouri Republican Party after his children insisted that he should not hold office due to his views.

West's son Andy told the Kansas City Star that his father is a "fanatic" who "must be stopped" a week prior to the November 2018 midterm elections and his daughter Emily told the paper that she "can’t imagine him being in any level of government."

“His ideology is pure hatred," Andy West said.
