Democrats announce who will be probing Kash Patel for the Senate confirmation: report

A key committee that cabinet picks in law enforcement are interviewing with will be the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will handle the questioning of Donald Trump's appointees like Kash Patel and Pam Bondi.

While Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) will remain the ranking Democrat on the committee, incoming senator Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) will be on the team, too, CBS's Scott MacFarlane reported.

"I'm already popping corn for the Schiff/Patel showdown," said national security expert Marcy Wheeler on X.

MacFarlane also revealed that Schiff is inviting a guest to the Joint Session of Congress that will formally certify Trump's win: Washington, D.C. officer Daniel Hodges. He was among the officers beaten by MAGA fans during the attack on the U.S. Capitol in 2021.
