Alabama teacher suspended for justifying N-word after students busted for racist ‘concentration camp’ video

A teacher at an Alabama school has been suspended for justifying the use of racial slurs during a discussion about a racist video featuring students.

AL.com reports that the Spain Park High School teacher, who is white, used the N-word while discussing a racist video with black students that went viral earlier this week.

"This alleged matter is being investigated," said Hoover school Superintendent Kathy Murphy.

Students confirmed the teacher, whose name was not released, was not in class Wednesday.

The school held a day of dialogue Tuesday, after a video surfaced over the weekend showing white students from Spain Park and Hoover high schools using anti-Semitic and racist language at a party.

“Without the Holocaust, what would the world be like?” one teen says in the video. “Jews would run the world.”

“F*ck n*ggers, f*ck Jews,” another student says.

A student then suggests putting black people into concentration camps.

The video has been viewed more than 2 million times on Twitter, and has sparked nationwide outrage.

Spain Park students spent the day in assemblies and in small group discussions, and the teacher allegedly used racial slurs in class.

A student told AL.com the teacher told students that everyone uses the N-word, so she could, too.

Administrators apparently disagreed, and allegedly sent her home.

A teacher at Hoover High School resigned last year for using a racial slur to describe a student's choice of music.

Both Spain Park and Hoover are part of a majority white school system in the suburbs south of Birmingham.
