Alabama’s GOP governor snaps at female reporter's simple question about his raunchy sex scandal

Alabama's family-values governor, Robert Bentley, was caught last month in an affair after a recording of a racy phone call between himself and his mistress was released.

On Friday, Bentley appeared to be trying to make the whole thing go away when he tried unsuccessfully to stop reporters from asking him about it, according to AL.com.

Bentley was visiting Mobile when reporters tried asking him whether the scandal has had a negative effect on job creation in the state. He told reporters he would only answer questions about "jobs and people."

"What impact has the scandal had on recruitment and industries," a reporter can be heard asking, before Bentley cuts her off and says, "Did you hear what I just said?"

The reporter then says, "It's a legitimate question," to which Bentley replies, "No, no it's not."

Later he was asked about the possibility of impeachment in light of the recording, in which he can be heard speaking explicitly to his aide, Rebekah Caldwell Mason. Some of the more tame comments included, "But baby, let me tell you what we’ve gonna have to do tonight, start locking the door. If we’re gonna do what we did the other day, we’re gonna have to start locking the door.”

Bentley's wife filed for divorce in August.
