A MAGA influencer and Donald Trump appointee is being ridiculed after a self-inflicted wound with his own base.
A Fox Morning Futures interview with Donald Trump FBI appointee Dan Bongino created new problems for the administration after he stated unequivocally that accused pedophile Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his jail cell while awaiting trial. That did not sit well with supporters of Trump, many of whom have long believed there is a massive cover-up of pedophilia by the "deep state" and have been frustrated since the president's re-election that the cover-up is still being maintained.
Reporters and critics of Bongino alike pointed out the MAGA fury.

Former national politics reporter Zachary Petrizzo said, "Dan Bongino is now being labeled a 'deep state traitor' by MAGA after saying Epstein killed himself."
Liberal commentator Brian Tyler Cohen also chimed in:
"Bongino spent years whipping his audience into a frenzy with rightwing conspiracy theories. Now that he's in a position where he could finally substantiate his own lies (and can't), his audience is turning against him."
One popular X account, Liberal Hegemony Enjoyer, said, "To all you Epstein conspiracy theorists, there is only one person Kash Patel and Dan Bongino would lie to protect… so you need to either admit Epstein killed himself, or Trump gave the order lmao."
Journalist Michael Tracey said, "Kash Patel and Dan Bongino say Jeffrey Epstein killed himself. So either Patel and Bongino have launched a new Deep State coverup to protect co-conspirators in a demonic sex trafficking ring, or Epstein did in fact kill himself."
Comedian Gabe Sanchez said, "So all those assassination conspiracies that Dan Bongino and Kash Patel flooded the MAGAsphere with turned out to be fake? Wow, who could’ve seen that coming!"
