Bundy supporters seethe over arrest of militant with illegal machine gun: They're playing with a 'time bomb'

Authorities have arrested yet another member of the armed militant group that occupied the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon early this year, the Oregonian reports.

Michael Emry, who describes himself as a reporter who "embedded" himself with the Bundy-led militia during the 41-day stand-off, was arrested Friday on federal weapons charges.

According to OPBFM, Emry was charged with unlawful possession of a machine gun and unlawful possession of a firearm with an "obliterated" serial number. Feds seized a .50-caliber Ma Deuce machine gun while serving a search warrant on Emry's Grant County trailer. The Oregonian reports authorities also found explosives.

In an affidavit filed by the FBI, obtained by the newspaper, special agent Miguel Perez said the gun, fully automatic, could fire at a rate of  550 to 650 rounds per minute.

"Emry admitted that he took the M2 from the shop where he works in Idaho about a month and a half ago" without notifying the shop owner, Perez wrote.

Emry is a former weapons manufacturer who founded the pro-Bundy publication, The Voice of Idaho. According to the Oregonian, he also controls a Facebook page called "The Voice of Grant County, Oregon."

A Friday post lamented his arrest.

"Michael was there as media and nothing more," the post reads. "For those of you who might think about cheering at the news, keep in mind that there are two issues involved here - freedom of the press and freedom of speech."

OPB reports Emry and his wife, Becky Hudson, recently relocated to Grant County, the home of pro-Bundy sheriff Glenn Palmer, who is under investigation for his activities supporting the occupation.

"The cowards waited for Sheriff Palmer to be out of town," one supporter wrote on Facebook, according to the Oregonian. "How much more do we have to take? Do they not realize the [expletive] time bomb they are playing with?"
