BUSTED: Colorado cops caught obsessing over reporter's 'giant boobs'

A deputy police sergeant in Durango, Colorado and two unidentified officers could face an investigation after they were caught insulting a local reporter's body and background on her voicemail, Jezebel reported.

The recording captures the sergeant, Zach Farnam, and the officers demeaning Durango Herald reporter Chase Olivarius-McAllister after Farnam left a voicemail for her. All three were on duty at the time.

"I felt incredulous that people who are in uniform, on the job, and trusted with protecting the public could express so much contempt for women," Olivarius-McAllister said. "The misogyny is horrifyingly casual. How can such attitudes not affect their police work?"

The audio, which was posted online, begins with Farnam's voicemail message for Olivarius-McAllister, followed by someone talking about a police dog. About 90 seconds into the clip, Farnam can be heard saying, "My wife worked at the Herald. She f*cking hated that b*tch."

"She hot?" an officer asks.

"Not hot," Farnam replies. "I mean, she's got an OK body."

"Giant boobs," another officer says.

"F*cking giant, dude," Farnam says. "I mean, not like quadruple Ds or anything. But at least a solid set of Ds, probably double Ds." He is also heard saying Olivarius-McAllister "doesn't have like a real pretty face at all."

One of the officers harps on the reporter's English-American background -- she grew up in London -- using an anti-English slur at one point and prompting the other unidentified officer to say, "I don't know why you have to be so hard on her."

Olivarius-McAllister told Jezebel that she did not hear the disparaging part of Farnam's voicemail at first, and forwarded it to her city editor thinking it was dead air. He later told her about it, saying the officers were "very opinionated" about her body.

"I thought he was joking," she recalled. "I listened to it and felt just utterly appalled."

Sheriff Sean Smith later called Olivarius-McAllister, she said, and told her that he was taking the matter "very seriously."
