An expert just made a prediction about when the suspect who assassinated MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk will be caught.
"My prediction is that this person will be in custody very soon," Tom Chittum, retired ATF agent, said in an interview with MSNBC Thursday.
Chittum weighed in on the active investigation, adding that investigators would zero in on video footage from Wednesday.
"It's a difficult shot for a novice, but for a trained shooter, and that doesn't necessarily mean government trained," he said. "Many people engage in precision shooting or hunting, and a shot of 200 yards with a 3006 is not impossible to make. It doesn't meaningfully narrow down the pool of potential suspects."
He added that the suspect's identity would come down to video.
"These days, it's very hard to move without being captured by a camera, especially at an event like this, especially at a venue like this," he said. "But in the long term, should they have trouble identifying the person? I don't think they will. There are other tools, like the biological evidence that they'll recover, familial DNA and that sort of thing."
