‘That’s disgusting!’ MAGA darling uses Charlie Kirk's podcast to aim jab at Israel

Conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson took an apparent jab Monday at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu and other top Israeli government officials for their comments on right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk in the wake of his killing last week, accusing them of weaponizing his death for their own agendas.

Kirk was killed last week while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University, an incident that sparked widespread condemnation and condolences. Among those voices were those of several top Israeli officials.

Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, for instance, thanked Kirk for his “support of Israel” in a social media post, while casting blame for the attack, in part, on “the collusion between the global left and radical Islam.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made several online posts in remembrance of Kirk, claiming him to be a “lion-hearted friend of Israel.”

Tucker, speaking on the Charlie Kirk Show Monday, which was hosted by Vice President JD Vance in the wake of Kirk’s killing, took an apparent jab at those comments, calling them “disgusting,” without directly naming Israel.

“I don't think it's helpful for people to jump in – particularly foreign heads of state – to say this is what he lived for, my cause, or whatever; that's disgusting, actually,” Tucker said, shortly after discussing Kirk’s positions on the United States’ support of Israel. “Don't do that, that turns everybody off. You don't help your own cause by doing that, and it's also literally untrue.”

Vance went on to recall a phone call he said he had with Kirk in the midst of the United States’ strike on Iran, where the right-wing influencer supposedly told Vance he was “worried” that the strike could lead to an effort to enact regime change, and drag the United States into a drawn-out and costly war similar to what happened after the United States’ invasion of Iraq.

Continuing on the topic of the United States’ strike on Iran, Tucker said that he was "worried" for Kirk after learning of the "enormous pressure” he was under from some donors who supported Turning Point USA, Kirk’s conservative advocacy organization.

“It did worry me,” Tucker said. “Some of the people who send money to Turning Point, his donors, were very tough on him, so tough on him that I could feel it. I talked to him a lot in the last few months, and he was under enormous pressure. He never bent.”
