'Leftists!' MAGA host attacks GOP senators over Pete Hegseth's FBI background check

Pro-MAGA Newsmax host Chris Salcedo labeled two Republican senators as "leftists" after they requested to see an FBI background check on defense secretary nominee Pete Hegseth.

On his Newsmax program Monday, Salcedo lashed out at Republican Sens. Susan Collins (ME) and Lisa Murkowski (AK) for wanting more information about Hegseth after he was hit with allegations of drinking and sexual abuse.

"On Friday, FBI officials briefed the senior committee members on the results of their background check," Salcedo said. "However, Democrats and America's Last Republicans like Senator Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins, they're not satisfied."

"They say they want to see the full report for themselves before confirming him," he continued. "In my view, this is just an excuse to try and justify a no vote that Murkowski and other leftists have already arrived at."

Salcedo told disgraced former intelligence official Tony Shaffer that the FBI background check "likely isn't worth the paper it's printed on."

"What do you make of so-called Republicans like Lisa Murkowski and her efforts to find any excuse to vote no?" the Newsmax host wondered.

"They're looking for anything they can use here which could be politicized," Shaffer insisted. "This is not about clearing someone. This is about finding something that will be a tool they can use as a political weapon."

"You and I both know, and I know Pete, look, he's not perfect," he added. "None of us are perfect, but I'm certain that he has passed with flying colors the checks that they've done."
