Dr. Christine Blasey Ford shot down a wild rightwing conspiracy on Thursday night, saying there is "zero chance" she misidentified the man who attempted to violently rape her at a party while she was in high school.
A well-known Republican named Ed Whelan, who has worked with Kavanaugh, today tweeted a theory that another man who looks vaguely like Kavanaugh was the real attempted rapist, posting the man's name and photo and, oddly, floor plans for a house where the assault may have happened.
On Thursday night, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow read a statement from Blassey Ford that shot down Whelan's theory.
"I knew them both and socialized with [the man Whelan accused]," she said. "There is zero chance that I would confuse them."
Maddow suggested that Senate Republicans may not understand who or what they are dealing with.
"So for all those people, like Senator Orrin Hatch, who think that Dr. Ford, is a mixed up lady, Dr. Ford is saying definitively, definitively, definitively she is not just mixed up about this," Maddow said.
