CNN pundit rips conservative black pastor: You're OK with Trump making you his 'political pawn'

CNN commentator and former Blaze TV co-host Tara Setmayer laid into Pastor Darrell Scott on Friday for defending Donald Trump's remarks regarding a black supporter.

"You're trying to act like you're not aware of the racial climate in America," Scott said during a discussion on Out Front with Erin Burnett. "The only reason I stand out as a Donald Trump supporter is because I'm black."

"Apparently," she shot back. "According to Donald Trump."

The exchange concerned a speech by the GOP candidate on Friday, in which he told supporters, "Look at my African-American" to start an anecdote describing what he said was a positive reaction among black voters.

Scott, who was part of a group of black pastors that endorsed Trump earlier this year, described the statement as Trump's attempt as a "term of endearment," while Setmayer, who is also black, accused conservative Trump sympathizers of succumbing to "Stockholm Syndrome."

"Don't try to act like we're in America but we don't understand the racial climate of this country," Scott told her.

"So you're acknowledging that it's OK for Trump to parade you out as a political pawn," Setmayer countered.

"I still have my ear to the ground in the black community," Scott said. "There's so many blacks who hope they don't get white judges."

"So, you're OK with racism," Setmayer responded.
