CNN's Jake Tapper highlights all the Republicans who've admitted Trump isn't in control of his own White House

On Wednesday, The New York Times published an anonymous op-ed piece that provided a first-hand account of President Donald Trump's destructive leadership style.

On Thursday, during CNN's Jake Tapper opening he said that the White House staff was giving the story "oxygen every 15 minutes" instead of allowing it to die off.

Tapper said that Trump's response only illustrates his ineffective leadership behavior.

"The truth of the matter is these new detailed accounts only confirm the concerns and fears that we have been reporting on for more than a year," Tapper said.

Tapper then claimed that it is not helpful that White House aides are issuing statements denying that they wrote the article

"From Vice President Mike Pence to the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley— each one insisting they did not author the story. Which leads to the possibility that it could have been that person," he said.

Tapper asserted that Trump is using a "self-defeating strategy" and has zero control.

"These denial statements are being printed out and delivered to President Trump for him to read," Tapper said.

He added, "This all might seem like a self-defeating strategy. One might call it impetuous and petty. There might be a better way for a president to rebut these accounts from senior administration officials that are harsh and very critical than to confirm the very qualities in his reaction."
