Colbert scorches Breitbart over Lucky Charms boycott: 'That leprechaun is magically offensive'

"Late Show" host Stephen Colbert was merciless in his mockery of Donald Trump during Friday night's show. The comedian noted that Trump is working diligently to save jobs. He joked that many of those jobs are for comedians like Colbert.

Colbert noted that Trump said in his remarks at the Carrier plant that he didn't recall even saying that he would save the Carrier jobs from being shipped off to Mexico.

"'No, we're not leaving because Donald Trump promised us,'" Trump quoted in his Indiana speech. "And I never thought I made that promise. And I'm saying to myself, 'Man. And then they played my statement,' and I said, 'Carrier will never leave.' But that was a eu-phen-ism."

"I'm not sure what a 'eu-phen-ism' is," Colbert said with a smirk. "But I'm guessing it's a euphemism for something."

Colbert said that his point was that Trump hadn't planned on saving Carrier but ended up doing so anyway. "Sort of like how he got elected president," he joked.

Trump also warned companies that they will never be allowed to leave the United States again without consequences. "Yes! Carrier faced harsh consequences, like $7 million in tax breaks," he said. "So watch out, ISIS. Knock off the nonsense or you're going to get pajama-grammed!"

Since the election, Colbert noted that there has been a lot of scrutiny on the alt-right news blog Breitbart, or as Colbert joked Breitbart.white.

"Critics say the site is a hotbed of racist, sexist and anti-semitic views while supporters say exactly the same thing," Colbert joked.

After a lot of backlash, Kellogg's announced they'd be pulling their ads from the site because it doesn't align with their values.

"Really is there the maker of Frosted Flakes doesn't agree with Breitbart? You think they'd love a bright orange cartoon who promises to make the country grrrrrreat!" Colbert said with gusto.

Colbert said that in response to the company pulling their ads, Breitbart said that they were "sorry to see a valued advertiser go and would work to try to repair the relationship in the future. Just kidding!" Colbert laughed. "They actually published this article title, '#DumpKellogg's: Breakfast brand blacklists Breitbart, declares hate for 45,000,000 readers' and went on to say 'if you serve Kellogg's products to your family, you are serving up bigotry at your breakfast table.'"

Colbert was shocked by the thought that a cereal could be bigoted. "Other than, obviously, Lucky Charms. That leprechaun is magically offensive! That trick rabbit's weird, too. Keep him away from the kids."
