Corey Lewandowski to testify to Congress this week in Russia probe: report

Former campaign manager to President Donald Trump Corey Lewandowski said on Sunday that he will appear before the House Intelligence Committee this week in the investigation into 2016 Russian election meddling, said The Washington Post.

"Lewandowski said on WABC-AM radio in New York that he expects to appear before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on Wednesday or Thursday to discuss the campaign," wrote the Post's Mike DeBonis.

“I will be fully prepared to answer any question about my tenure at the Trump campaign,” he said, according to a transcript published by WABC. “I didn’t collude or cooperate or coordinate with any Russian, Russian agency, Russian government or anybody else, to try and impact this election. I’ll be happy to come out and set the record straight about my lack of involvement with any type of foreign entity.”

The former campaign manager said that he has not been contacted by anyone from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Some Democrats have charged that the House-led investigation into Russian meddling has already been sabotaged from within by Republicans like Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), a former White House transition team official who has repeatedly tried to refocus and derail the investigation and protect the president.
