The Trump administration's Department of Education debuted a new portal where Americans can report any diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives lingering at public schools — and critics were aghast at what they dubbed a "snitch line" pushed out in conjunction with the right wing Moms for Liberty group.
"Today, the U.S. Department of Education launched EndDEI.Ed.Gov, a public portal for parents, students, teachers, and the broader community to submit reports of discrimination based on race or sex in publicly-funded K-12 schools," the department said in a release Thursday.
Parents can provide an email address, school name or district and "details of the concerning practices," the release said.
Accompanying the announcement: a quote from Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty.
“For years, parents have been begging schools to focus on teaching their kids practical skills like reading, writing, and math, instead of pushing critical theory, rogue sex education and divisive ideologies—but their concerns have been brushed off, mocked, or shut down entirely,” saidJustice. “Parents, now is the time that you share the receipts of the betrayal that has happened in our public schools. This webpage demonstrates that President Trump’s Department of Education is putting power back in the hands of parents.”
The move comes as the Trump administration tries to purge the federal government of DEI initiatives, ordering the termination of all federal DEI programs and employees.

As Rolling Stone noted, Justice once defended a parent in the organization who quoted Hitler in a newsletter, declaring, “I stand with that mom!”
Critics unloaded on the portal, calling it a "snitch line" — with some noting it was reminiscent of Nazi Germany, which issued a decree requiring Germans to turn in anyone who spoke against the party, its leaders, or the government.
"I believe Hitler had a program like this," wrote Michael E. Mann on Bluesky. Mann is a scientist, author and director of the Penn Center for Science, Sustainability and the Media.
"Trump Education Department opens snitch line to rat out diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at local public schools.
The snitch portal was launched in association with anti-LGBTQ group Moms for Liberty," wrote Gabe Ortíz, editor at America's Voice, where he focuses on immigration, LGBTQ, and Latino issues.
"snitch page for the DOE just launched. you know what to do," wrote Sara Rezvi, assistant professor of Education at Dominican University, adding: "and it's connected to Moms for Liberty. b/c of course it is."
"The fact that Trump’s — bigoted, extremist — effort to end diversity, inclusion, & equity in schools uses Moms for Liberty as its only validation tells you everything you need to know. The same Moms for Liberty that approvingly quoted Hitler & has deep ties to violent groups like the Proud Boys," wrote Amy Spitalnick, CEO of Jewish Council for Public Affairs.
