WATCH: Joy Reid marks Halloween with 'nightmare' about 2025 America under an 'unconstrained' Trump

Donning a witch costume with a Halloween-themed backdrop and sound effects, MSNBC host Joy Reid revealed a "spooky nightmare" about "what America could look like in January 2025" on Friday night.
"Just picture it, an even older, weirder Donald Trump buoyed by Republicans who game the voting system," Reid said in "The Absolute Scariest," which replaced "The Absolute Worst" segment at the end of her show.
In Reid's nightmare, Trump loses the 2024 election — "because he's a loser and most young people and people of color can't stand him" — but it doesn't matter because there are enough MAGA-loving governors to overturn Joe Biden's victory.
"So Trump returns but he's unconstrained because there are no more American democratic elections," Reid said. "With his own little puppet, puppet Kevin McCarthy as speaker, whom he can dangle and fling to his delight, and his his cruel wicked henchman grim reaper Mitch McConnell back in charge in the Senate ... there is no stopping him."
In Reid's nightmare, McConnell has refused to allow Biden to appoint a Supreme Court justice, allowing Republicans to install a 7-2 majority. Women have no rights over their bodies, LGBTQ people are threatened, the right to vote is gone, migrant children are back in cages, and COVID-19 is killing at will as Vice President Ron DeSantis "laughs gleefully as he counts his Regeneron stock."
Meanwhile, Trump is using the IRS to attack his enemies and seize control of social media companies so he can give his children corporate jobs.
"If you think it's racist and fascist out here now, just wait until all of Trump's monsters are unleashed," Reid said. "Picture the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters and the Boogaloo Boys with real power, Trump's own personal militia, racist sheriffs and police free to commit untold violence against anyone they please, all in the name of Trump. The land ravaged, plowed for every drop for oil and coal until it all just burns."
"America won't be American any more. It will be theirs," Reid said, before playing clips of Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Josh Hawley and Madison Cawthorn, as well as Sen. Ted Cruz.
