An attendee at President Donald Trump's latest campaign rally in South Carolina drew plaudits for his interview with a Fox News reporter.
The goateed man, identified only as Tom, who wore a blue ballcap advertising a Charlotte, North Carolina, print shop and a yellow T-shirt with the logo for the pioneering death metal band Death, explained to Fox News reporter Lucas Tomlinson why he had gone to the president's rally in Rock Hill.
"Well, in the late '70s, I was a little too young to get involved and go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre," Tom said. "But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here."
The reporter was caught off guard, but Tom cut him off before he could formulate a follow-up question.
"There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front," Tom stated.
The reporter realized at that point that he's been hoodwinked, and he smiled as he placed his hand on Tom's shoulder and ushered him away.
"Maybe this is not a Trump supporter, right now" Tomlinson said, as Tom pointed to the print shop name on his hat.
Tom won a lot of fans on social media.
"This hero deserves a medal," cheered GOP consultant Mike Madrid.
"Hahahaha who is this legend?" laughed former Obama staffer and podcaster Tommy Vietor.
"This is incredible! On FOX NEWS!" whooped popular Spiro's Ghost account.
"lol!!! And wearing a sick ass Death shirt," noticed filmmaker E. Casey Leydon.
"Tom sneaking in!" yelped UFO researcher Joe Murgia.
"The host genuinely had to consider whether comparing trump to jim jones was a compliment. that's where we are," observed X user Mohamed.
"This is fabulous. Not only are protesters regularly disrupting Trump rallies with shouts of 'Stick that ballroom up your fat a--', but when @FoxNews interviews supposed Trump supporters live, they turn out to be anything but," chuckled X user galavanter.
"Absolute legend," marveled Chef Joe Gera.
"Patriot," agreed writer Pedro L. Gonzalez.
