Trump's 'overwhelming insecurity' could cost him a lot of money in new legal twist: Morning Joe

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough said Donald Trump's insecurity could end up costing him a lot of money in another defamation suit.
Author and columnist E. Jean Carroll asked a judge to amend her defamation case against the former president to seek additional punitive damages after Trump again called her rape allegations a "fake story" during a CNN town hall, just days after a jury held him liable for defamation and sexual abuse.
"This was a rigged deal," Trump said two weeks ago, when asked if he wished he had testified in the case. "My lawyer said, 'Sir, you don't have to do it,' I said, 'I think I should, it'd be respectful.' They said, 'Sir, this is a fake story, and you don't want to give it credibility.' That's why I didn't go. I've never done that. I swear to you, I have no idea who the hell -- she's a whack job."
The "Morning Joe" host said the ex-president had revealed his insecurity using the same tell he often did, but this time could cost him.

"His insecurity is so overwhelming, he feels the need to say, 'Sir, sir, sir,'" Scarborough said. "Again, you talk about a tell, this is the most insecure man in public life."
Trump had gotten used to getting away with crimes and misdemeanors as president, Scarborough said, but he no longer carries that shield.
"This isn't the world that Trump thought he had created over the past few years," Scarborough said. "Like I said, gravity has returned. There are debts that have to be paid for so many of the things that he does, including defamation."
