Fox News viewers received Monday night a dire warning from former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) about America’s future should Donald Trump regain the White House.
“We know what he will do, he has already done it,” Cheney told host Bret Baier. “I think it’s a very real concern that he would take steps very quickly that would unravel the rule of law.”
Cheney believes Trump would seek out political aides to “blow through” Constitution guardrails and cited as proof his efforts between the 2020 election and Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol.
“I would urge people watching today who are going to be voting in those caucuses or in those primaries, vote for somebody else,” Cheney said. “Do not vote for the person who already tried to seize power.”
This is not the first warning Cheney has issued against Trump, the leading conservative candidate in the 2024 presidential election. In her book “Oath and Honor,” Cheney slammed Trump and those who supported him in the wake of Joe Biden’s victory.
Experts say her book could hurt Trump in the criminal trials he faces next year on charges that he tried to steal the election.
Trump has pleaded not guilty.
