President Donald Trump shared a follower's QAnon conspiracy meme Wednesday in a rapid-fire social media posting spree as the Jeffrey Epstein scandal continues to bear down on him.
The president shared a barrage of responses to his post Tuesday night demanding Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) ram through his judicial nominees over the objections of Democratic senators. One of those replies came from a QAnon adherent.
"Be the calm in the storm," the meme's text read. "We all knew this day would come."
The image, which was posted by the Spiritual Streetfighter17 account, shows Trump staring straight ahead with a stylized "Q" and a cross on his shirt collar, underlining the reference to the QAnon theme of "the storm," which the conspiracy theorists believe will be a day of reckoning when the "Deep State" will be brought to justice and imprisoned and possibly executed at Guantanamo Bay.
The right-wing conspiracy movement is based on the idea that Trump has been waging a war against a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who control the world and run a global child sex trafficking ring. Adherents believe those "Deep State" actors should be exposed and punished for their supposed crimes.
Trump has been facing blowback for nearly a month from his MAGA base after his Department of Justice shot down adjacent conspiracy theories about his former friend Jeffrey Epstein, who took his own life in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
The president has been facing questions about his relationship to the disgraced financier, and he claimed this week that he ended their friendship after Epstein "stole" teenage employees from his Mar-a-Lago spa, including Virginia Giuffre, probably the most widely known victim of his sex abuse.
Trump has also floated the possibility of pardoning Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, another former friend of his who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking. He's made clear that he hopes she implicates former President Bill Clinton and former Harvard President Lawrence Summers in their crimes.
The account user whose content Trump shared clearly identifies themselves as QAnon believer and Trump supporter.
"I’m a Proud American, born and raised. Woman for Trump. I believe in Q, The Great Awakening and Holding the Line!❤️ WWG1WGA! Backup to @SpiritualStreetfighter," the account's bio states, using an acronym for the QAnon motto "Where we go one we go all."
