'Don't call him a liar!': Right-winger melts down after CNN's Cuomo confronts him with a multitude of Trump lies

Far-right leader Matt Schlapp suffered a public meltdown on CNN while attempting to claim that President Donald Trump is honest.

Schlapp is the chairman of the American Conservative Union, a right-wing lobbying organization that is currently hosting the annual CPAC conference. He is the former political director for President George W. Bush and is married to Mercedes Schlapp, who serves as director of strategic communications in Trump's White House.

"I think it's mistake to say that Donald Trump is somehow a dishonest political leader," Schlapp told CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.

"He lies all the time," Cuomo interjected.

"Not true," Schlapp argued.

According to The Washington Post fact checking, Trump has made 8,718 false or misleading claims during his 759 days in office.

"He lies," Cuomo noted. "He said he didn't have anything to do with Jared's clearance and he did. He said he had nothing to do with the hush money payments and he did. He said 2 million people voted illegally and they didn't."

"He lies all the time," Cuomo added.

"How many voted illegally in California?" Schlapp asked. "Don't call him a liar without specifically telling me -- it's a big number in California."

"Matt, it's not anywhere near it and you know it," Cuomo replied. "He lies all the time and you know it."
