Far-right legal commentator and former Neil Gorsuch law clerk Mike Davis unloaded a furious, uncensored rant against Senate Republicans on the "War Room" show as President Donald Trump withdrew the nomination of far-right activist Ed Martin to be permanent U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
Martin, who was serving as the acting top prosecutor in that office, failed to secure enough Republican support to move ahead owing to a long string of controversies, including his intimidation campaign of threats against organizations that have drawn the Trump world's ire, and his full-throated praise of a Nazi-sympathizing Jan. 6 rioter who dressed up as Hitler.
"Ed Martin is a good man," said Davis. "He's a good friend of mine ... we have our weak Senate Republican sisters who just couldn't handle Ed Martin's political past, and so they were very dug in. I know the president is a huge fan of Ed Martin's, he pushed very, very hard. But sometimes these weak Republican sisters, you just can't get them to change the tampons. And so here we are, Ed Martin is now going to be utilized by President Trump in another high-impact job, he's not going away. And people are going to remember this. I'm hearing Judge Jeanine Pirro is being floated for D.C. U.S. Attorney now, and I think that would be phenomenal."

Davis singled out Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), who was one of the more outspoken voices in the Senate GOP caucus against confirming Martin.
"I think Thom Tillis should invest in Thom Tillis Tampons, because I think he would sell a lot of those things," Davis railed. "And look, I get along with Thom Tillis, he's a good guy. I think that we need to be smarter on our side about getting bold, fearless people into this position. Remember, Senate Democrats put Rachael Rollins as the Boston U.S. attorney under Joe Biden, she was a radical lunatic who got chased out of office very quickly, but the Senate Democrats didn't budge, they brought in Vice President Kamala Harris to break the tie. I think that our side needs to get a hell of a lot tougher than we are. They think that they're principled. They are the controlled opposition."
"I'll say this on your show, I'll probably get in trouble — Senate Republicans are giant p-----s, and they need to stop being giant p-----s and start understanding what we're up against," David continued. "President Trump ... has about a 30 percent chance of saving this country, and these cowards in the Senate, Senate Republican cowards, the ladies of the Senate, men and women, the ladies of the Senate, need to grow a backbone."
