Elon Musk spills about eating 'an entire container of Häagen-Dazs' at Trump sleepover

Elon Musk is planning to step away from his government role to focus on his businesses, but he's keeping his office in the White House.
President Donald Trump's billionaire benefactor has recommended sweeping cuts to the government workforce, which he says has saved $160 billion, which is far less than the $2 trillion he promised and could be offset by $135 billion in estimated costs associated with the cuts, but the Washington Post reported that Musk believes the U.S. DOGE Service has been a success.
“It is funny that we’ve got DOGE," Musk told reporters. "Doesn’t the absurdity of that seem like a weird simulation? It was a memecoin at one point."

“How did we get here?” he added. “Doesn’t it seem absurd?”
Musk several times compared the Department of Government Efficiency, which the president created through executive order and has about 100 employees embedded throughout the government, to Buddhism and claimed the quasi-governmental entity would continue without him.
“Is Buddha needed for Buddhism?” Musk said. “Was it not stronger after he passed away?”
Musk is planning to spend less time working in government to return to Tesla and the other companies he runs, which have taken a beating in the market and have been targeted by ongoing protests related to his relationship with Trump, but the tech CEO intends to keep the West Wing office where he admits to playing video games on occasion.
“It has a view of nothing. It has a window, but all you see is the HVAC unit,” Musk said. “Which is fine. It’s harder to shoot me there … there’s not a good line of sight. I like my comically tiny office upstairs.”
Musk has been referred to as the president's "first buddy," and he claims to have slept over at the White House "more than once."
“The president is — I guess we’re good friends,” Musk said, "and we’ll be on Air Force One or Marine One. And then he’s like, ‘Hey, do you want to stay over?’ I’m like, ‘Sure.’”
He emphasized that Trump had offered to let him sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom, and that it wasn't something he requested, and he said the president was a gracious host.
“He’ll actually call, like, late at night and say, ‘Oh, by the way, make sure you get some ice cream from the kitchen,’” said Musk, who said he ate an entire container of Häagen-Dazs caramel ice cream. “It was epic. I mean, don’t tell RFK. This stuff is amazing. I ate a whole tub of it, added three pounds in one night.”
