‘Fairly unpresidential’: Watch a 2016 Kellyanne Conway trash Trump as ‘vulgar’ for the same reasons Strzok did

House Republicans on Thursday grilled FBI agent Peter Strzok about his text messages attacking Donald Trump when he was a presidential candidate.

However, as Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) pointed out on Thursday, the criticisms that Strzok made in his text messages were very similar to the kinds of criticisms Republicans themselves made publicly about Trump during the 2016 election.

In fact, a 2016 video of top Trump loyalist Kellyanne Conway from before she joined Trump's campaign reveals that she had many of the same criticisms of Trump that Strzok did.

During an appearance on CNN, Conway blistered Trump for using childish nicknames to describe his opponents at the time, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

"Insulting them as 'Lying Ted' and 'John Kasich, he eats like a slob,' and everything else he said today, which is fairly unpresidential," Conway told CNN. "I think he should just ignore them! If he's not worried about them, why doesn't he just ignore them if he doesn't think of them as competitors. I think they got under his skin."

In another CNN statement, Conway called out Trump for being "vulgar" and said that his vulgarity "cost him votes." She then said voters were starting to question whether they wanted a candidate "who hurls personal insults or who talks about philosophical differences."
