Florida GOP candidate refuses to return huge donation from man who called Obama the N-word

Florida Republican Ron DeSantis, who is running for governor in a race that has been characterized by racist rhetoric, says he will not return a donation given by a man who called President Obama a "Muslim N-word."

DeSantis is endorsed by President Donald Trump and won a spirited primary the day before he accused his black opponent of trying to "money up" the state.

DeSantis accepted a $20,000 donation from Steven M. Alembik, who tweeted that Obama was "“F*UCKING MUSLIM N*GGER.” DeSantis now refuses to return the donation because he says he already spent the money in his primary race.

When Alembik was attacked, a spokesman told the Grip that he has a "plethora of black friends.”

Florida Republican commentators argue that DeSantis' black opponent, Andrew Gillum, is "the real racist."
