Florida woman opens fire on houseguests who overstayed their welcome

A Florida woman shot at her friends because she thought they had overstayed their welcome.

Alana Annette Savell was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, reported WPTV-TV.

The 32-year-old Savell told Bay County sheriff's deputies that a woman and a friend came to her house and drank, but she said they got too loud and stayed too long.

Savell's boyfriend told her that she should order the houseguests to leave three times, and then fire their handgun at the ground if they still refused.

If they still wouldn't leave, the boyfriend said, she should shoot them in the leg.

That's apparently what happened.

Investigators said Savell armed herself with a .22-caliber handgun and fired several shots from the doorway of her home toward the ground near her guests' feet.

One of the shots struck a woman in the leg, and she was treated at a nearby hospital.

Another shot also struck Savell's boyfriend in the leg, deputies said.

It's not clear if the boyfriend will be charged in the incident.
