Fox & Friends audience howls in laughter after host asks whether Grumpy Cat is dead or not

The studio audience for "Fox & Friends" howled in laughter after host Brian Kilmeade clarified that Grumpy Cat was, in fact, dead.

The distinctive-looking animal died this week at age 7, after spawning a multitude of memes, comics, shoes and other products.

"I think that Grumpy Cat really started the whole trend of famous animals on the internet," said reporter Carley Shimkus.

Host Brian Kilmeade clarified why they were discussing the cat, and the studio audience burst into laughter.

"But again -- but again -- dead," Kilmeade said. "Right?"
