Fox host smacks down Trump confidante David Bossie for claiming DNC behind the Mueller probe

Appearing on Fox News panel show 'Outnumbered,' a close confidante of Donald Trump saw his attempt to dismiss the entire premise of special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian collusion in the president's 2016 campaign go down in flames no sooner than it was out of his mouth.

Discussing Trump's rant about the Justice Department indulging in "rigged witch hunt," guest David Bossie said the genesis of the investigation was the result of "fruit of the poisonous tree."

"This entire case is based on opposition research, " Bossie insisted, without mentioning the Steele dossier. "Paid for the DNC, paid for by the Clinton campaign."

"That's not true," Fox News regular Jessica Tarlov exclaimed over him.

"It is true," he blustered as she shot back, "It is not."

"I am absolutely not lying about this when you say it's not true," she patiently explained to him. "This started with George Papadopoulos because of a conversation he had with Australian diplomats."

"That is how the 'Russian witch hunt' started, "she added with mocking air-quotes as a defeated Bossie looked on.

Co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy then jumped in to change the subject by saying Trump could put all of the questions to rest by ordering all of the internal documents involved in the Justice Department case released.

Bossie had recently been taken off the air by Fox after he told a black Democrat that he was "out of his cotton-picking mind."
