Fox News analyst praises Trump’s ‘message discipline’ after president smears senators and insults reporters

Fox News on Monday played a highlight reel of President Donald Trump lashing out at female reporters for asking questions about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

"The President there verbally sparring with the media in the Rose Garden after announcing his historic Mexico and Canada, one of his biggest campaign promises," Fox News host Harris Faulkner said. "The president wins when he does this with the media most days, how did he do today?"

"I thought he did fairly well," answered Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell. "I think it is unfair for press -- journalists -- to keep pushing the issue when there is a current pending investigation."

Fox News contributor Doug Schoen, who once worked for Democrats, said the attacks on female reporters and an unnamed senator was a triumph for the president.

"This was a huge victory, whether you be a Democrat or Republican, independent, whatever," Schoen claimed.

"What the president was demonstrating, is what we call in the business 'message discipline.' Stick to your issues, stick to your theme," he argued. "If you are coming back to Kavanaugh, do it at the end."
