Fox News contributor: Girl Scout trip to see Jimmy Carter is 'child abuse'

Fox News contributor Tony Sayegh argued on Monday that the Girls Scouts had abused children by taking them to see President Jimmy Carter speak.

Hosts on Monday's edition of Outnumbered agreed that a group of girls in California should not be allowed to join the Boy Scouts.

"It really makes me think, are we allowed to maintain any sort of classic American tradition in our culture and institutions?" Sayegh opined. "You know, there is a Boy Scouts and a Girl Scouts.

"It makes me sad in a way because we talk about this sometimes with transgender bathrooms," he continued. "There should be a basic baseline common sense when it comes to our sort of -- certain traditional values. I think this is one of those instances."

Fox Business host Dagen McDowell recalled that she had hated Girl Scouts as a child because her troop had gone to hear President Jimmy Carter speak.

"Full disclosure, I was in the Girl Scouts and the Brownies and I hated it," she told the co-hosts of Outnumbered. "I hated it because my troop leader took me to hear Jimmy Carter speak. And I was, like, this man is responsible for runaway inflation in this country."

"That's brutal," Sayegh remarked. "That's child abuse."

"I dropped out after that," McDowell revealed.

"You just blamed the entire Girl Scouts for Jimmy Carter," co-host Andrea Tantaros pointed out. "I'm not disagreeing. Listen, I'm on your side."

"I'm, like, we're spending money to go here to see Jimmy Carter speak," McDowell said.

"Why can't boys have anything to themselves anymore," Tantaros lamented in conclusion. "I don't get it. Just let them have their own thing."
