Fox News host Shep Smith shoots down Trump’s claim he hired Cohen for ‘low level work’

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen received a 36 month sentence for crimes he claims he committed in part at the behest of the president.

The next day, President Trump tried to spin Cohen's sentencing in a positive way, claiming, among other things, that he'd kept Cohen on retainer for "low-level work."

"I hired him for more low level work," President Trump said. "He did more public relations than law."

On Fox News Thursday, anchor Shephard Smith did not buy the President's excuses.

"Cohen joined the Trump organization in 2006," Smith said. "He was a self-described fixer for the president and once known as Trump's pitbull."
