Fox News’ Shep Smith revives a ridiculous image from ‘Planet Blago’ to highlight the absurdity of Trump’s pardons

President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that he wanted to pardon celebrity Martha Stewart and shorten the prison sentence for Rod Blagojevich, a former Illinois Governor.

Fox News’ Shep Smith during his show gave viewers a flashback to "planet Blago." Blagojevich is in jail until 2024 for attempting to sell former president Barack Obama's Senate seat.

He also wrote in the Wall Street Journal that he was only behind bars for "practicing politics."

During Smith's show he had an image of Blagojevich flying around his studio reflecting his potential freedom from prison.

"A ray of hope pierced the prison cell of Rod Blagojevich, our Blago is flying high," Smith said.

President Trump also announced he planned to pardon conservative Dinesh D’Souza.
