Giuliani’s preemptive rebuttal to the final Mueller report shows Trump is in trouble: Legal analyst

MSNBC legal analyst Jeffrey Jacobovitz said Friday that the very fact that President Donald Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, is preparing an alternative to Robert Mueller's final report on the Russia probe undermines the administration's persistent claims that the president is innocent of any wrongdoing.

Jacobovitz made the remark during a broader discussion of what the Mueller report might reveal and whether the findings would be "the last word", whether Trump might yet be indicted, or if Congress will continue to investigate.

"What do you make of Rudy Giuliani saying they're going to be releasing their own report?" asked host Stephanie Ruhle. "Is that an effective strategy?

"It depends on what the final report says," replied Jacobovitz "If it's not harmful to Trump, why wouldn't they want the final report out there? If Giuliani has been working on a long-term plan to contest the final report, obviously, they think it will be harmful to his client."
