GOP senator faceplants as MSNBC host grills him about using Russia hacks to win election

Utah Republican Mike Lee faceplanted after MSNBC's Kasie Hunt grilled him about comments made by President Donald Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani minimizing the severity of Russia's attacks on US elections.

"There is no question that the Trump campaign used information the Russians hacked in order to influence our elections," said Hunt. "Giuliani said that was totally fine, a-ok. Is that okay with you?"

"I've never been a presidential campaign manager," said Lee. "So it's difficult for me to say whether for sure I would do that."

"Would you use it in a Senate campaign?" Hunt pressed.

"I don't think so," Lee said, as host Joe Scarborough laughed loudly. "I think if somebody came to me under those circumstances I think I would be inclined to report them to the appropriate government authorities."
