GOP senators 'rattled' by Kavanaugh scandals -- and it's not just Collins and Murkowski: report

A new report from Politico claims multiple Republican senators are "rattled" by the scandals swirling around Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh -- and it's not just the usual suspects.

In addition to Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), retiring Sens. Bob Corker (R-TN) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) are reportedly waiting to see accuser Christine Blasey Ford testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Even stalwart conservative lawmakers such as Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and John Kyl (R-AZ) said on Monday that they are still on the fence about confirming Kavanaugh and are waiting to see what happens at Thursday's hearing.

"I don’t have any stand," said Kyl, who had been helping shepherd Kavanaugh through the confirmation process. "I’m still working really hard to figure out where to go and how to get there."

As accusations against Kavanaugh pile up, the Supreme Court nominee's chances of getting confirmed have increasingly come into doubt. On Monday, Fox News reporter Chad Pergram brought word that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) knew he lacked the votes to put Kavanaugh over the top.
