GOP voters spout racist conspiracies after Trump-loving candidate loses: 'They're coming -- they have names like Vasquez'

A group of Republican voters in Pennsylvania spouted off bigoted conspiracy theories to the New York Times shortly after one of their Trump-loving candidates lost an election to a Democrat this week.

On Tuesday this week, Republican candidate Frank Scavo III lost his race for the Pennsylvania state legislature to Democrat Bridget Malloy Kosierowski by a margin of roughly 25 percentage points.

In the wake of Scavo's defeat, some of his supporters lamented to the New York Times that they were losing control of their country to immigrants being represented by Democrats.

"We’re a big country, but we’re being swallowed by people coming in," said local Scavo supporter Thomas Bremer.

Scavo supporter Carol Huddy, meanwhile, told the Times that she was fearful of Latin American immigrants coming to Pennsylvania despite the fact that it is thousands of miles away from the southern border with Mexico.

"We may be far away from the border, but they’re here and they’re coming here," she said. "They have names like Vasquez and Hernandez."

Some supporters of Scavo blamed his defeat on the fact that he apologized for posting "Pizzagate" conspiracy theories on Facebook that alleged Hillary Clinton was running a pedophilia ring from inside a pizza parlor outside of Washington, D.C.

"I’m furious," said supporter Laureen Cummings. "Our poor president is getting hammered and the same thing happened to Frank."
