GOP’s Joe Walsh catches hell after laughable accusation that Charlie Hebdo never mocked Muslims

Republican former lawmaker Joe Walsh slapped the French satirical magazine "Charlie Hebdo" for its condemning Hurricane Harvey victims as Nazis -- but social media users hammered him for getting the facts horribly wrong.

The cartoon cover was published Wednesday, showing Nazi flags half submerged in floodwaters as victims make Nazi salutes as they drown, along with the caption, “God Exists! He Drowned All the Neo-Nazis of Texas."

Naturally, many Americans were upset by the comic -- including Walsh, a conservative talk radio host, former one-term Illinois congressman and infamous child support scofflaw.

Charlie Hebdo, of course, was targeted by two al Qaeda terrorists who killed 12 and wounded another 11 during a January 2015 mass shooting provoked by the satirical magazine's comics mocking Islam.

Walsh was so angry about that attack -- and media coverage of it -- that he called on ISIS to behead CNN and MSNBC employees who refused to show Charlie Hebdo's anti-Muslim cartoons.

The satirical magazine published a comic just last week mocking Islam as a "religion of peace" -- and Twitter users let Walsh have it.
