‘I’m a white attorney and you’re black’: Senior adviser to Trump appointee banned from Uber over racist tirade

Daniel Pollack, a senior adviser who worked for Donald Trump’s former appointee Carl Higbie, had previously been banned from the ride-sharing app Uber over a racially-charged incident with a driver, CNN reports.

Higbie was removed from his role as the chief of external affairs at the Corporation for National and Community Service after audio surfaced of him accusing the "black race" of "lax morality."

Pollack, who worked with Higbie as the senior adviser for public affairs at the CNCS, had previously worked with Higbie at the Great America Pac and the James O’Keefe-run Project Veritas.

Pollack is still banned from Uber, spokesperson Andrew Hasbun told CNN, stemming from a March 2017 altercation between the CNCS employee and his driver, Jasmine Coer. As KFile reports, police were called after Coer complained of an “aggressive ride.”

"He looks at me and I'm like, 'Sir, get out of my car. I'm calling the cops,' and he goes 'I'm white. I'm a white attorney and you're black,'" Coer said. She later recorded herself demanding Pollack get out of the car. According to the report, he got out and "placed his hands on the front hood stopping any forward movement.”

Pollack was charged with disorderly conduct, but was never prosecuted for the offense.

In a statement in March 2017, Uber confirmed Pollack had been banned from the ap.

“What our partner experienced is totally unacceptable,” a spokesperson said. “As our Community Guidelines make clear, we have zero-tolerance for any discrimination. This rider has been banned from Uber.”
