'The clown show continues': James Comer mocked after seeking testimony of Biden's doctor

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) was mocked by both Republicans and Democrats Sunday after he called on President Joe Biden's doctor to testify before the House Oversight Committee.

In a letter to Dr. Kevin O'Connor, the House Oversight chair said the committee was investigating Biden's medical assessment, which stated that he "remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency."

"The Oversight Committee is concerned your medical assessments have been influenced by your private business endeavors with the Biden family," Comer wrote, adding that he had "evidence" that connected O'Connor to a business venture involving Biden's brother James.

"[T]he Committee now turns to you to provide answers regarding your independence because of the mixed and confused messaging coming from the White House regarding the President's ability to perform his job," the chairman added. "Given your connections with the Biden family, the Committee also seeks to understand if you are in a position to provide accurate and independent reviews of the President's fitness to serve."

Comer's letter, however, was met with jeers from both sides of the aisle.

"Y'all are a bunch of do-nothing show boaters. I'm so sick of your hearings and strongly worded letters. Start actually holding these criminals accountable!" Pretty Patriot replied on X.

"Pfft. Comer has known all along about Biden's condition," one commenter said. "This is just a CYA letter and NOTHING will be done."

"The clown show continues," another person chided.

"Prove it. Clown," a commenter remarked.

"Oh Boy! This means another impeachment Hearing for @RepMoskowitz to dunk all over @RepJamesComer 🙌!!!" @TayoMurph wrote on X.

"Still tryin' to dig up dirt. Nothing can be as bad as trump's dirt," another person pointed out.

"Another nothing burger from the feckless GOP," a commenter concluded Sunday.
