Jared Kushner hung up on McCain advisor over criticism of Trump’s friendly relationship with Vladimir Putin: report

Senior White House advisor Jared Kushner reportedly hung up on an advisor to the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), the Washington Examiner reported Tuesday.

The report was based on a revelation from the new book Kushner, Inc. by journalist Vicky Ward.

In the days after the 2016 election, Trump fielded a congratulatory phone call from Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.

The day after the phone call, McCain put out a blistering statement.

"At the very least, the price of another ‘reset’ would be complicity in Putin and Assad’s butchery of the Syrian people. That is an unacceptable price for a great nation," McCain said. "When America has been at its greatest, it is when we have stood on the side those fighting tyranny. That is where we must stand again.”

Kushner reportedly called longtime McCain adviser Rick Davis to vent.

"Has McCain got a strategy or is he just an egomaniac?” Trump's son-in-law reportedly asked.

“He needs to step back," Kushner demanded. "We have a plan. He ought to give us time to implement our plan. He’s being obstructionist."

After Davis suggested Kushner show McCain respect, Kushner reportedly hung up.

Trump himself attacked McCain on Saturday evening, Sunday morning and Tuesday morning.
