President Donald Trump was harshly criticized for attacking deceased Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Saturday.
Trump complained about McCain passing along the Steele Dossier to then-FBI Director James Comey and not voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
The president’s attacks on a deceased Republican senator were harshly criticized on Twitter, here are some of the responses:
No one will ever love you the way they loved my father…. I wish I had been given more Saturday’s with him. Maybe spend yours with your family instead of on twitter obsessing over mine? https://t.co/q7ezwmHiQ4

Here is what will never change. John McCain will always be a better man than you in every way we measure a man’s character. You’ll never beat him. Now fuck off, you miserable excuse for a human being.

WINDOW INTO SOUL
Trump often praises Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un because they help him and flatter him….
…. but he attacks a deceased, patriot for putting loyalty to America head of loyalty to Trump. https://t.co/3BsnZOcg9B

Wow, what an asshole. Ladies and gentlemen, our president…

Been covering Trump for three years now. Will never quite understand how the GOP tolerates his attacks on McCain, Bushes and Romney. The GOP just shrugs its shoulders.

You’re completely obsessed with McCain because you’ll never be half the man he was.
Let that insecurity go. You’re not fit to shine John McCain’s shoes.

Leave the honourable John McCain out of this. He served his country in many ways, including military service. @MeghanMcCain

Again attacking John McCain.
It is Trump who is a stain on this country, and humanity. https://t.co/sg3KgKNxzP

Let John McCain Rest In Peace

Yet again, Trump assails McCain, a veteran who endured unspeakable torment: "He had far worse 'stains'…"
McCain didn't defeat repeal of Obamacare on his own. Sens. Murkowski & Collins voted no as well. If Trump had proposed a workable replacement, all 3 would have voted yes. https://t.co/K5fkqGOsUQ

I think Steele deserves a Knighthood and Medal of Freedom for the Dossier. It may have gotten a few things wrong but generally it’s been spot on. And, he did his best to alert the US of the dangers of the lecherous racketeer. This was an heroic act worthy of the highest honors.

Even after McCain's death, President Trump clearly not willing to forgive the late Senator's 'no' vote on healthcare. https://t.co/ZPG59Gztr1

John McCain received a Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars, and two Legion of Merit medals after his time in Vietnam.
Donald Trump received four draft deferments and alleged bone spurs. https://t.co/SD246QJSwa

Your not fit to wash John McCain’s socks. The more you attack him the more you look like a disgraceful clown. You look even worse now that he’s died.
