Jubilant conservatives dance on John Boehner's political grave before resignation ink has dried

Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)'s abrupt exit from Congress Friday had his political enemies dancing in the aisles within minutes of his announcement that he will be stepping down at the end of October.

CBS News reported that Heritage Action -- the policy wing of the far-right Heritage Institute think tank -- called Boehner's resignation "sign that the voice of the American people is breaking through in Washington."

"Americans deserve a Congress that fights for opportunity for all and favoritism to none. Too often, Speaker Boehner has stood in the way," said Heritage Action CEO Michael Needham in a statement.

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) lost no time finding members of the press to crow his delight to.

Cruz spoke Friday morning at the Values Voter Summit, where news of Boehner's resignation was met with cheers.

RedState.com blowhard and erstwhile CNN commentator Erick Erickson offered his pithy insights on Twitter:

The far-right super PAC FreedomWorks' CEO Adam Brandon said, "This is an example of grassroots politics at it's best and is a huge victory for the House Freedom Caucus. This is one of the greatest changes that's happened in Washington. The old go along get along ways are over because people realize that kicking the can down the road doesn't work."

Their Twitter account reflected the organization's jubilation at seeing Boehner's fall.
