Sources close to Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) say she's ready to launch a bid for president in 2020.
According to KCBS News, she will likely launch her campaign in Oakland on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
"If she really has decided to run, my advice would be, announce. Don't drag this out," said Democratic strategist Darry Sragow.
KCBS reported that the Harris campaign team wants a moment similar to Barack Obama's 2007 announcement at the Old State Capitol in Illinois. So, they are scouting locations currently.
"Harris' advisors want to avoid identifying her too closely with San Francisco, where she first made her political mark as a two-term district attorney," the report said.
