Kellyanne Conway baffled by husband's Trump criticism: 'He was literally crying with joy in his MAGA hat on election night'

Kellyanne Conway doesn't agree with her husband's assessment of President Donald Trump's mental state, and she told CNN he must have changed his mind since the election.

The White House adviser and former Trump campaign manager was finally forced to respond to her husband George Conway's tweeted criticism of the president, which has escalated into a full-blown Twitter feud.

"No, I don't share those concerns," she said from the White House driveway. "I have four kids, and I was getting them out of the house this morning to talk to the president about substance."

George Conway has tweeted out links to information about narcissistic personality disorder, from which he believe the president suffers, and Trump has responded by calling him "a total loser" and "husband from hell."

Kellyanne Conway insists her husband, who helped form a group of conservative attorneys to oppose the president, was thrilled with the 2016 election results -- at least when they were announced.

"George was so excited, literally crying with joy in his MAGA hat -- black, not red -- with his MAGA hat on election night," she said. "So, in that way, he's changed his opinion on matters with the president, the presidency. I haven't, and Donald Trump hasn't."

Kellyanne Conway has managed to survive for more than two years in a tumultuous White House marked by staff turnover, leaks and scathing tell-alls, and she credits her personal relationship with the president.

"He hears and listens to any number of people," she said. "Why does he hear me? Because I always tell him the truth."
