Kimberly Guilfoyle apparently asked for a pardon for the son of her gynecologist but was denied by the White House counsel.
That detail is highlighted in a new book, "Enough," by former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who reveals that White House counsel Pat Cipollone denied the request during a frantic effort in the final hours of Donald Trump's presidency to claw back classified materials from MAGA-friendly media personalities, reported CNN.
“'Hey, Cass, while you’re on the phone with him,' Pat Cipollone called back as she raced to call Mark Meadows, 'can you tell him we cannot pardon Kimberly Guilfoyle’s gynecologist? Maybe he’ll listen to you.'"
"My jaw was hanging as I turned around to look at Pat," Hutchinson wrote. "I knew by the look on his face that he was dead serious. 'Yeah, sure. I guess I’ll tell him that, too.' I stayed in the West Wing until 2:00 in the morning. Ten hours left.'"
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
A spokesman for Meadows denied that account, saying the documents related to the FBI's Crossfire Hurricane investigation had already been declassified by the former president.
The White House counsel’s office wanted the documents back because they contained some personal information that needed to be redacted, the spokesman said, but Hutchinson wrote that Cipollone told her the documents contained a large amount of classified information
Guilfoyle was asked about her request during her testimony before the Jan. 6 committee, and she told the investigators she was seeking to help the son of her former gynecologist.
