Legal expert points out the trial moment where the 'die was cast' in favor of Kyle Rittenhouse

Appearing on MSNBC right after a Wisconsin jury found Kyle Rittenhouse not guilty on all five counts related to his shooting and killing two men in Kenosha, former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance stated she thought the verdict was ordained after the testimony of one man who was shot and survived.

Vance said the testimony of Gaige Grosskreutz did the prosecutors no favors.

"The prosecution's real problems began when one of their key witnesses, the victim who survived, took the witness stand, and he essentially on cross-examination conceded self-defense," she told host Chuck Todd. "He talked about the fact that there was a gun in his hand. The prosecution tried to argue their way out of that situation, but I think the die was cast in a significant way at that point."
