As many as six people have been shot at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, local news is reporting. But it was only recently that the National Rifle Association was attacking doctors and nurses for telling stories about their experiences caring for shooting victims and survivors.
"Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane," the NRA tweeted less than two weeks ago. "Half of the articles in Annals of Internal Medicine are pushing for gun control. Most upsetting, however, the medical community seems to have consulted NO ONE but themselves."
Doctors took to social media, did interviews, and wrote op-eds themselves telling the NRA how this was their lane because they deal with shootings every day while the NRA is lobbying for gun corporations.
