Las Vegas mayor calls shooter 'a crazed lunatic full of hate'

In a press conference with local officials and the Clark County Sheriff's Department, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman was quick to assail the shooter, now identified as Stephen Craig Paddock, of Mesquite, Nevada.

"This is a crazed lunatic full of hate," Goodman said. "We don't yet know much about his background but it certainly is not an extension of what we believe in, what everyone who lives here and works here and those who visit here want to be."
