Liberals AND Conservatives shred Ann Coulter for racist Trump-Haley tweet

Ann Coulter tried to troll South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) on Tuesday night -- and Twitter users responded with a bipartisan show of criticism.

The conservative author revisited her attacks against Haley following the governor's response to the State of the Union address on her own account, writing, "[Donald] Trump should deport Nikki Haley." The post can be seen below:

The comment was a flashback to Coulter's accusation last June that Haley "does not understand American history" and is an immigrant. In fact, Haley was born in South Carolina.

On Tuesday, Coulter's remarks were quickly repudiated, even by self-admitted supporters and other conservatives, as seen below:

The backlash against Coulter's remark came a night after she was ridiculed by Republican strategist Liz Mair during an MSNBC interview for her continued support of Trump, with Mair saying it showed she was "in no way conservative and no way interested in conservative policy."
